The biggest gi tournament of the master season is coming. The World Master IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2026 already has confirmed dates and location, bringing together thousands of master competitors from around the world every year, with a strong Brazilian presence in all belts and age categories.
When and where it takes place
The event will be held from September 3 to 5, 2026, at the Las Vegas Convention Center (Halls W1–W3), in Las Vegas, United States. The competition is exclusively gi and opens brackets from white belt to black belt, in the master divisions (from 30 years old), gathering everyone from amateur practitioners to world champions who continue to compete in the master scene.
Registration deadline: stay alert
Those who intend to compete need to hurry. The final registration deadline is August 23, 2026, at 11:59 PM (local event time). IBJJF warns that it may close registrations before that if maximum capacity is reached — and emphasizes that a pending registration, without completed payment, does not guarantee a spot in the tournament. In other words: don’t wait until the last minute.
Why the World Master matters
In recent years, the World Master has become one of the most competitive gi events on the calendar, both for the number of participants and for the quality. Former adult world champions and elite black belts migrate to the master divisions and turn the brackets into true super fights. For the Brazilian audience, it is one of the best showcases of gi in the second half of the year, with athletes from academies all over Brazil crossing the world to compete for the title.
As the list of registered competitors closes, AboutJiujitsu will return with confirmed highlights in the black belt division and the Brazilian names to watch.
